1. How Did Randy Get The Aliens Quote Wrong? - Scream 2
The Plot Hole:
If Randy (Jamie Kennedy) is such a film nerd, why does he get the iconic quote from Aliens wrong? When one of the students (Joshua Jackson) says, "Get away from her, you b*tch!," Randy "corrects" with, "I believe the line is 'Stay away from her, you b*tch.'"
And yet, the other student got the quote exactly right - Randy's correction was totally wrong.
Over the years, enough Scream fans have noticed this and debated whether it was a genuine mistake on the part of the actors or a scripting oversight which weakens Randy's stance as the horror aficionado to rule them all.
The Solution:
Even though many fans contend to this very day that Jackson and Kennedy screwed up their lines, it makes way more sense that a writer as smart as Kevin Williamson simply wanted to subtly show audiences that Randy is fallible and not quite the flawless fountain of movie knowledge he appears to be.
You could even go further and argue that it's telling the audience that Randy isn't as genre-savvy as he appears, given that he's later killed in broad daylight by Ghostface in a scenario he should've easily been able to avoid.
