When you think about cliffhanger endings involving Kurt Russell, naturally your mind will go to The Thing. In fact, when you think about cliffhanger endings period, John Carpenter's masterpiece will be one of the first films to cross your mind. However, it's not the only time a Kurt Russell movie has ended on a huge question mark.

As Big Trouble in Little China's Jack Burton, Russell played a truck driver dragged way out of his depth in an ancient and mythical battle. The final shot of the film showed that one of the monsters Jack thought he had defeated had stowed away in the back of his truck, with the credits rolling before revealing what happened next.

While Carpenter himself has confirmed that he will never reveal the true ending to The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China doesn't have that same issue. You just have to know where to look to see what happened to Jack Burton.

In 2015, almost 30 years years after the movie released, BOOM Studios released a comic book series that picked up directly after the original ending. Incredibly, it turns out that the beast didn't want to fight Burton, but instead was tethered to him since he killed Lo Pan (James Hong). He ended up treating him like a pet, and even named him Pete after a dog he used to have. Didn't expect that, did you?
