10. When Strangling Just Isnt Enough - Rambo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFowuMIPF_g Theres little doubt in anyones mind that Rambo, the fourth in the increasingly over-the-top franchise starring Sylvester Stallones meaty poster boy for post-traumatic stress disorder, is one of the most violent action movies ever to require an on-screen body count meter. You could probably fill half of this article with examples taken from this film a particular favourite is the bit where Rambo, murdering a few dozen Tatmadaw soldiers with his compound bow, takes careful aim, and shoots the last of them through the head, whereupon the poor man flies through the air in that graceful way that people brainshot by arrows tend to, hits the water and is smithereened by a landmine. But its this one that takes the biscuit. Entering the Tatmadaw camp to rescue the prisoners, Rambo steps up behind one of the soldiers holding missionary Sarah Miller (Julie Benz) and begins to choke him out except its Rambo, and simply choking a man out so that they can ninja their way out of the compound isnt enough. It looks like Sarah is more traumatised after her rescue than before it. By the way, you can see here the vindication of the persistent rumour that the 5 foot 8 Stallone chooses to face enemies from South East Asia in these films because, as a rule, the inhabitants of Vietnam, Burma etc are all of a small enough frame enough to make him look like a giant among men when, in reality, he has trouble getting on the rides at Disneyland.
