10 More Movie Heroes You Didn't Realise Probably Died Horrible Deaths

2. Forrest Gump

In one of the most classic bittersweet movie endings ever made, Forrest Gump meets the son he didn't know he had, reunites with his lifelong love (who ends up dying tragically) and discovers that his child is in no way "like him". Tears are shed, but ultimately Forrest's is a happy ending.

But Wait...

Didn't Jenny die of AIDS? It's never explicitly mentioned in the film - only drawing reference as a virus - but in the logical timeline of Gump's wide allegory, the ominous unnamed story that Jenny represents is the HIV epidemic.

And rather tragically, she slept with Forrest without any protection (perhaps, some cynics say as a means to secure a stronger future for her unborn son, who has nothing to do with Forrest's sperm - hence not taking after him in any way). So basically, Jenny could easily have transmitted the HIV virus to Forrest (and not to mention little Forrest who was something like 20-45% likely to have the infection too) thanks to their sexual activity.

Yes transmission through sex is once you take into account the fact that they were married for six months, you're probably talking more encounters, and thus more risk, And frankly, Gump is probability proof - that's where his inherent gumpness comes from, which is basically defined as "anything that can happen to someone, will happen to Gump". So it's not looking good.
