Easily ranking as one of the most unexpected of Easter eggs to wiggle into a family-friendly Pixar flick to date, it's likely you completely overlooked the nod to James Cameron's Aliens during this year's Lightyear adventure.

As Buzz comes face-to-face with a number of space cadets after (SPOILER!) once again jumping many years into the future, the iconic space ranger is greeted by a member of this anything but elite squad who boasts a rather familiar inscription on their outside panel.

The unfortunately unhelpful bot known as DERIC can be seen sporting the words "El Riesgo Siempre Vive", a phrase that is also present on Jenette Vasquez's armour during the pulsating sequel to Ridley Scott's horrifying slice of sci-fi known as Alien.

These words translate to, "The Risk Always Lives" in Spanish and appear to be director Angus MacLane's way of tipping his space cap to Jim Cameron's sci-fi masterpiece. The director also just so happens to voice DERIC, too!

And who knows, with Aliens now under the Disney banner in recent times, this could perhaps mean that Buzz and the Xenomorphs actually share the same universe... now that's one way to forever change the way you look at this piece of Pixar.
