Sony's Spider-Man Universe is less of a universe and more of warning about why you shouldn't take other people's ideas.

The company's attempt to copy the MCU has gone down about as well as a punch bowl full of sulphuric acid. When the best film in your series if Venom, then you know something has gone wrong.

This hasn't stopped Sony from bravely carrying on, as there are three new entries in the SSU coming over the next few years.

The first is Kraven the Hunter, based on the long-time Spider-Man baddie. Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be playing the lead role, presumably to get back at Marvel for killing his Quicksilver off after just one movie.

The next is El Muerto, which will star musician Bad Bunny as a super-powered wrestler. Mr. Bunny has some real-life wrestling experience, so this is an excellent choice.

And finally, we have Madame Web, a character mostly famously voiced by Stan Lee's wife Joan in the Spider-Man cartoons. In the film, she'll be played by Fifty Shades actor Dakota Johnson.

Will any of these movies actually be good? Well, we'd say they can't be any worse than Venom, but then Morbius came along and now nothing is safe.
