10 More Movie Spin-Offs You Didn’t Know Were Coming
4. Power Rangers
Since Mighty Morphin' premiered back in 1993, Power Rangers has seen more different cycles than the Tour de France.
With 21 different themed series spread out over almost 30 seasons, these brightly coloured warriors have conquered the world and did it all whilst wearing skin-tight spandex.
The monster-fighting superfriends most recent foray into the world of film was in 2017. Simply entitled Power Rangers, the movie starred Dacre Montgomery, Noami Scott, and Bryan Cranston's giant floating head.
Unfortunately, Cranston's cranium couldn't morph this movie into a money-maker, as it bombed at the box office. All planned sequels were cancelled and we've heard nary a peep from the franchise since then.
Until now!
The series is up for a reboot with writer Bryan Edward Hill penning the script. Hill is a former comic book writer, which is exactly the sort of campy source material Power Rangers should be drawing from.
We know that this is a reboot and not a sequel because Montgomery said as much on Reddit. Don't feel too bad for the guy though, he ended up in a little show called Stranger Things.
Hear that's really going places.
