This feature might not have predicted precisely which actor would ultimately suffer a horrific fate in real-life, but it got pretty damn close, it must be said.

The Upside, a remake of the 2011 French film The Intouchables, sees Kevin Hart's Dell Scott become the unlikely carer for Bryan Cranston's paralysed billionaire Phillip Lacasse. In reality, Cranston's character of Lacasse genuinely suffered a life-changing spinal injury during a paragliding accident, but it was Hart whose life would be altered due to a similarly devastating event a few years later.

In September 2019, during the same year the film would finally be released, Hart was involved in a car crash which saw the vehicle he was a passenger in roll down an embankment.

The actor ultimately fractured his spine in three places, but would make a slow recovery and is now back in the gym and making movies once more. Yet, things could've been much worse for the star, as Dr. Jonathan Stieber, the Director of the Spine Center at OrthoManhattan, confessed that “there are patients with x-rays like his that are in wheelchairs for the rest of their lives.”
