10 More Movies That Suck So Bad You Can’t Believe Got Made
8. The Star Wars Holiday Special
Following on from one of the greatest big-screen adventures of all time blasting into theatres in 1977, the decision was made to have the likes of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa reunite for a spin-off film of sorts known as The Star Wars Holiday Special.
Anyone expecting to once again spend 90+ minutes on the edge of their seats, however, were in for one hell of an unwanted surprise in 1978.
Bringing to life a story centred around Chewbacca's Wookiee family on Kashyyk, this Steve Binder-directed "Life Day" celebration would go down in history as one of the most perplexing and occasionally quite uncomfortable TV movies of all time.
Now sure, it did at least boast the debut of the iconic Boba Fett in an animated segment, but this laughably bad Holiday Special was a spaceship crash that also contained stuff like Chewie's dad Itchy pleasuring himself with a virtual reality headset and a song so awkward it'll make you beg for a carbonite timeout.
Star Wars fans likely weren't the only ones who couldn't believe this atrocious spin-off was ever allowed to exist either, with the likes of Harrison Ford and co. all understandably looking like they'd prefer to be anywhere else on the planet here, too.
