4. Casper/Ghostbusters

The 1995 Casper movie was full of throw-away cameos that were mostly included for comic effect, including Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson and Rodney Dangerfield (as well as Steven Spielberg, though his cameo ended up being cut). They don't mean a great deal, aside from inspiring a few laughs.

The best cameo is reserved for Dan Aykroyd, who turns up early in the film as Cathy Moriarty's Carrigan Crittenden and her sidekick Dibs (Eric Idle) try to exorcise the Whipstaff ghosts. He appears in full Ghostbusters get-up as Ray Stantz, tying the two film universes together.

Quite why he'd turn up alone to tackle such a big job is anyone's guess.
