Trading Places Coming To America

Randolph and Mortimer Duke first appeared as the villains in seminal comedy Trading Places, as the owners of successful commodities brokerage "Duke & Duke" who make a wager around the Hereditary vs Environment argument. One brother attempts to destroy Dan Aykroyd's Lois Winthorpe while the other claims he can elevate Eddie Murphy's Billy Ray Valentine into a successful executive.

Ultimately, their villainous plan to manipulate the frozen orange juice market is uncovered and they lose their fortune and are forced out onto the streets. Normally, that would be the end of their story, but the pair turn up again in another film entirely, confirming that they remained homeless for a couple of years.

In Eddie Murphy's Coming To America, Murphy's Prince Akeem gives away a huge amount of money to a homeless man in New York, only for him to be revealed as Randolph Duke, who wakes up his brother shouting "Mortimer....We're Back!".
