1. Roaring Shark - Jaws: The Revenge
Jaws: The Revenge intended to bring the franchise back to its roots after the negative reception of Jaws 3D. It brought elements from the first two instalments like Amity Island and the Brody family. But despite its good intentions, the film is seen as the worst of the four movies with the shark going on a quest for vengeance.
Its crowning moment is during the film's climax when Ellen Brody pursues the shark. In order to stop the Great White, Mike Brody uses a device that emits electrical impulses to harm the creature. Thankfully for our heroes, the object works and dishes out immense pain but then, the impossible happens. The shark rises from the water and begins roaring out of nowhere.
As many have pointed out, Great Whites don't have vocal cords which makes this biologically impossible. Another baffling fact is that the sound effect used for the roar hails from an old Tom and Jerry cartoon.
In a film with a ridiculous premise, seeing and hearing a shark roar remains its biggest achievement. It's probably for the best then that this was the last Jaws movie ever made.
