A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is a sequel that manages to break all the rules established in the original Wes Craven classic. Gone are the dream sequences where you die in your sleep and instead, we get a possession story about Jesse Walsh. As the new kid in town, he becomes the target of Freddy Kruger who aims to take over his body and take his murder spree into the real world.

In the climax of the film, the Springwood Slasher succeeds in his plan as he starts another murderous rampage against a bunch of hapless teenagers. Jesse's love interest, Lisa, then chases Freddy to his hideout to save the young man. Before we reach our final battle, however, our heroine encounters an eerie sight as two demonic dogs arrive with human-like faces.

This wouldn't be a problem but there is no point to the scene as the dogs leave as fast as they arrive. Though they're supposed to be Freddy's guard hounds, the animals don't even attack Lisa which makes you wonder why the scene wasn't cut. The sequence is not only out-of-place but was only added to elicit a cheap scare without any payoff.
