10 More Star Wars Mistakes You Can't Unsee

3. A Sudden Stormtrooper Armour Change - Episode IV: A New Hope

And speaking of one of the most terrifying Sith the galaxy has ever known, has there ever been a more impressive and intimidating introduction to a character than the moment Darth Vader first strutted onto the big-screen back in 1977?

However, the fact you were likely trembling in your seat at the sight of this masked badass choking the life out of Captain Antilles probably means you didn't actually notice yet another small original trilogy continuity error.

With the one-time Anakin Skywalker mercilessly strangling this Rebel as he searches for the stolen Death Star plans, your eyes weren't immediately pulled to the Imperial Stormtroopers stood around watching the poor lad having the life squeezed out of him.

But if you do take a closer look at the left knee of a trooper to the right of Vader in the wide shot as the ruthless villain hoists the Rebel scum up by his neck, you'll find that the armour there goes through a baffling change as the scene continues.

When the shot switches to one that focuses on the feet of Vader's victim, that knee goes from not boasting any extra plating, to abruptly sporting a protective cover.

Oh, and that same inconsistent trooper also seems to quickly go from being right handed to left handed, too.
