Don't you just hate it when your favourite movie franchise gets killed off by a terrible - nay, awful - instalment? You often wonder how it's even possible to make such a bad movie when the one, two or more movies that came before were so good. Why didn't the director just follow the same tried and tested formula that made the prequels so successful or cool? This isn't a trend that is exclusive to Hollywood either as books, TV shows and video games all have the same propensity to be ruined by piss poor sequel treatment but nowhere is it more prevalent than in good old Tinsel Town. 10. Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
There was loads that could have been done to revive the Indiana Jones franchise back in 2008. Pitting the somewhat haggard Harrison Ford against a bunch of Aliens was not high on anybody's list however when plot scenarios were being dreamed up. Yes the fourth episode of Indian Jones was a commercial success and yes many people did enjoy it but if you actually sit down and watch it with a critical eye it just doesn't feel like any of the previous movies. Maybe it's the lack of Nazis or maybe its the inclusion of Shia LaBeouf as Indiana Jones Jr but something just wasn't right here. The most likely reason that this instalment was below expectation though was because too many years had passed since The Last Crusade and how long can you really be expected to keep lightening in a bottle before it loses some of its spark? LaBeouf later told the press that he would never return to the series as it would be considered career suicide for him. Ford responded by calling the star of Transformers a "F*****g idiot".
