10 More Terrifying Vacation Horror Movies

9. Tourist Trap

The evil dead ii 2
Compass International Pictures

The oldest movie on our list and potentially the first unofficial Charles Band Full Moon motion production, before the moniker was even attainable due to it not yet existing, Tourist Trap is habitually frightening with its gritty grindhouse aesthetic only attributing to every unexpected find as the protagonist(s) go further down the rabbit hole.

Even imbuing the patented nightmarish trademark that is the inanimate, yet autonomic dolls, becoming an intrusive element of the fear factor. If you've encountered this movie prior to reading, then you're probably already trying to banish the maniacal screams of the aforementioned from your mind as you read this.

Our sincerest apologies if you fell into our trap.

On the subject of apologies, whoever edited the original trailer together has some serious explaining to do. As, somehow, this inexplicably gruesome and horrific affair was somehow initially rated "PG" (for parental guidance!), with subsequent home releases slightly adjusting that to an "X" or "18", depending on which part of the Atlantic Ocean you fall on.

For those uninitiated, the previously referenced trailer should enlighten you as to what to expect.

"Tourist Trap. Beautiful young people looking for excitement are tricked, terrorised and trapped. God help those who get caught in the Tourist Trap".

Yeah, PG my arse.
