10 More Times Star Wars Filmed Things You Weren't Meant To See

9. The Camera Crew Is Reflected In C-3PO's Head - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

Reflections can be a right pain in the ass when it comes to the filming process.

Just ask Irvin Kershner and George Lucas.

The latter had to overcome the problem of his shiny protocol droid creation by the name of C-3PO reflecting his beloved green/blue screens during the making of Revenge of the Sith. In fact, each frame that contained the legendary droid had to be repainted in post-production by the poor VFX team thanks to his pesky armour.

However, with that sort of technology not being available back when Kershner was bringing The Empire Strikes Back to screens, the director was actually forced to leave in an easily missed reflection accident (via Reddit).

As Threepio's head is seen moving along a conveyor belt on Bespin, you can actually see some of the camera team in his reflection just before the head is picked up by an Ugnaught garbage disposal worker.

Chewbacca may have been able to save Threepio from being disintegrated, but he couldn't keep the camera crew from making a rather unintentional cameo mid-Episode V.
