10 More Trippy Freak Out Film Scenes That Will Melt Your Mind

4. Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

Screen Shot 2013-08-03 at 11.03.55 ''We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt-shaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls.'' - Raoul Duke Which certainly explains why the entire film resembles one bad trip after another. Duke (Johnny Depp) and his equally oddball attorney Dr. Gonzo (Benicio del Toro) have armed themselves against the bright lights and bustle of Sin City with a near-endless supply of psychoactive drugs. And so the valet's face begins to melt, the pattern on the casino carpet starts to rise like steam, the floor by the bar seems to have transformed into a river and, most worryingly of all, the surly lady at the reception desk is now some sort of writhing, winding moray eel. But such animorphism isn't limited purely to administrative roles, oh my, no. Everyone's a lizard when you're off your head on acid. And no, that isn't a good thing.
