10 More Upcoming Movie Performances Doomed To Fail

7. Chris Pratt & Millie Bobby Brown - The Electric State

About five years ago, if a sci-fi tale directed by the Russo Brothers and starring Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown and Guardians of the Galaxy's Chris Pratt was announced, anticipation levels would have likely been rather high.

The same can't be said in 2024, though, with very few being all that thrilled about the idea of this particular gang working together for the upcoming Netflix movie adaptation of Simon StÃ¥lenhag's 2018 graphic novel, The Electric State.

The underwhelming trailer for the project just makes it seem like your standard, dull, paint-by-numbers Netflix action movie, with it seemingly (and quite frustratingly) not being faithful to the lonely and minimal story told in the source material (via FilmStories)

Neither Brown as Michelle (a young woman looking for her brother) or Pratt as Keats (a smuggler) really do much to convince folks they'll be deviating from their usual, uninspiring underdog or Han Solo-lite shtick in the teaser, too.

Sure, the movie with a $320 million budget will likely score some impressive viewing figures, but it'd be foolish to expect anything more than a collection of disappointingly safe leading performances within a film that looks like it was produced by an algorithm.
