10 More Upcoming Movie Performances Doomed To Fail
3. Jared Leto As Ares - Tron: Ares
After winning Oscars gold in 2013, Jared Leto has found himself exploring more wacky and weirder personalities in everything from superhero ensemble movies to biographical dramas.
But very few of those performances have really shown off the star's talents in the way they were in Dallas Buyers Club, with Leto's work often being more distracting than it is engrossing in things like Suicide Squad and House of Gucci.
The less said about Morbius the better, too.
His rather hit-and-miss recent track record doesn't exactly fill you with optimism heading into next year's Tron: Ares (releasing October 5, 2025).
Leto - who apparently went full method for the role - will play the titular highly sophisticated program sent from the digital world into the real one in the movie, with this sort of other-worldly character having all the makings for yet another excessively bizarre and showy turn from the actor.
Perhaps Leto will show some restraint and remind folks why he's one of the most captivating stars in the business on his day. But unfortunately, if his recent output is anything to go by, it's more probable that his armoured-up villain will become the latest of Leto's peculiar misfires.
