10 Most Absurd Forgotten Moments In Star Wars History
7. Anakin Buried His Mom At The Lars Family Homestead - Episode II: Attack Of The Clones
In isolation, the fact Anakin Skywalker opted to bury his recently deceased mother at the Lars family homestead in Attack of the Clones isn't absurd at all, really.
Why wouldn't 'The Chosen One' opt to lay his slave mother to rest at the home she'd been living at in the days after finally being freed by eventual husband Cliegg Lars?
What is a little odd, though, is the fact that Shmi's grave stone is seemingly nowhere to be seen by the time A New Hope goes down two decades or so later.
And when you really dig into this often forgotten detail, it does become that little bit more strange to think that Anakin's son actually spent a great deal of his life being raised above the remains of his fallen grandmother... without likely being aware she was even buried close by beneath the sands of Tatooine.
At least Shmi and Cliegg were given proper burials at the family home, mind. Sadly, the same could not be said when it came to the latter's son and his wife in the wake of being burned to a crisp in Episode IV.
A lovely home, full of delightful memories, eh.
