10 Most Annoying Animated Movie Characters

The medium of animation has always had a wholesome and creative feeling to it. Even when it doesn't go well, there is still a sense of the creativity and work that went into producing the project. In films big and small, there comes plenty of charm, but at times a lot of issues.

Being designed almost entirely for children means that many creators choose to employ comic relief characters. There have been strong examples of this working such as The Chicken from Moana or Phil from Hercules. These characters go on to make the film all the more unique and loveable. However, at times this not only fails but creates characters so annoying that they become detrimental to the movie itself.

In some instances, they are too energetic and irritating. At other times they simply do not fit in the world of the film and therefore make their presence entirely unwatchable. It's awful to see a promising film ruined by the constant irritating presence of a character that no one wants to see. That was the case - or very nearly - with the following ten.

Tarzan is a somewhat underrated Disney movie. Although it doesn't have as much charm as many of its contemporaries it at least has excellent animation and some enjoyable characters. That being said, there is a persistent presence in the film that you will either really enjoy, or find incredibly obnoxious.

This re-telling of the classic Tarzan tale includes the character of Terk. It seems she was added to give Tarzan an ape companion who can bring some comedy into the film. Unfortunately, this really doesn't work. Her jokes never land, and she fails to come across as likeable. This is because she tends to try way too hard as a character. The jokes are all a little too forced, which makes their presence not only unfunny but typically detrimental to the scenes she is involved in.

Rosie O'Donnell takes the voice for this character, and her tone is always an irritating presence. Her vocal performance doesn't fit in with the rest of the cast, and this makes her presence even more noticeably frustrating.

She has some good moments, and a great connection to the lead, but ultimately makes watching the film a little challenging at times.
