8. The Forever Purge
The Purge has grown from an interesting concept that underwhelmed fans, to a solid franchise of action/horror that has been as much of a staple for horror fans' calendars as the Friday the 13th and Halloween films were in their heyday.
The Purge seems unstoppable, but The Forever Purge is apparently the fifth and final instalment in the franchise. Though with low production costs and high earnings, we're skeptical if this really is the end of the series.
The Forever Purge was written by James DeMonaco, who has penned every other Purge film. While we doubt this will be the last we see of The Purge, it will probably be DeMonaco's last hurrah into his dystopian horror creation, so at least he gets to end his involvement with the franchise he started on his own terms.
They might not have ever reached the full potential of their fantastic concept, but The Purge films were always an easy watch for horror and action fans alike, and The Forever Purge should make for an explosive finale, releasing this July 9 for the US/UK.
