10 Most Badass Movie Hitmen
8. Martin Blank - Grosse Pointe Blank
John Cusack may not be a conventional choice for the role of a deadly assassin, but in this crime comedy he absolutely knocks it out of the park. Cusack plays Martin Blank, a depressed and disillusioned hitman who attends his ten year high school reunion in an attempt to take his mind off a hit gone wrong. While there he takes on a fresh contract and also begins to reconnect with an old girlfriend.
Blank certainly comes across as just a regular guy who can blend seamlessly into the background. With an endearing charm and a deadpan sense of humour, you wouldn't suspect he was a professional killer, and that’s perhaps where his greatest advantage lies.
While he isn't the most lazer-focused of hitmen, and shows a social side that few others possess, Martin shows just how skilled he is when called into action. In perhaps the film's most memorable scene, even a pen becomes a deadly weapon in his hands.
