10 Most Badass Movie Hitmen
7. Ghost Dog - Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai
Jim Jarmusch’s movie is a heady brew of crime thriller, hip hop cool and Japanese Samurai lore. Its titular hitman lives a quiet life filled by looking after his beloved pigeons. This serenity is punctuated regularly however by his contract killing for the mob. He carries out his kills while adhering to the strict code of the Samurai , complete with an unwillingness to kill the innocent and a badass katana sword for a weapon.
Ghost Dog is a rarity in the assassin game in that he carries out his work not for financial gain but instead due to a debt of gratitude he owes a mobster who saved his life years previously. Forest Whitaker brings a great sense calm and composure to the role, and he injects his character with spiritual leanings and a distinct demeanour that you just don't find in most other killers.
As one might expect though, while his character may be very zen the majority of the time, when required he turns into an unstoppable and shockingly effective killing machine.
