10 Most Bizarre Cases of Movie Censorship

8. Disappearing Blood - Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

If you want to see some incredible examples of the Christian right getting all hot and bothered about movies, then look no further than the Harry Potter series. Ever since the young wizard first hit screens, Christian organisations all over America have been labelling it the work of the devil sent to corrupt God-fearing children. As bizarre and often amusing as the objections from religious extremists are about the films, perhaps the strangest example of censorship can be found in the trailer to Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. On the DVD for the previous instalment, The Half-Blood Prince, a shot is featured showing Hermione with bloodied hands. Once the trailer hit cinemas, however, the blood had been removed. Squeamish people who went on to watch the film for themselves were no doubt in for an unpleasant surprise.
