10 Most Bizarre Cases of Movie Censorship

3. Cutting Out All The Cuts - Commando

If you're on the lookout for one of the most violent action movies of the 1980s (perhaps one of the best decades for over the top action movies) Commando is as good a place as any to start. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, it features some of the most explosive action scenes of all time and a body count that most action movies could only dream of matching. The final one-man-assault on the bad guy's hideout is a relentless barrage of death and destruction, with Arnie taking out enemies left right and centre. Death by bullet certainly wasn't an issue for the British censors, but once he hits the tool shed and pulls out the circular saw, axe and other pointy weapons, they had a field day cutting out all the gory shots. Even the iconic shot of bad guy Bennett impaled on a metal pipe was removed. Presumably the message is killing people with guns is fine, but anything else is a no-no.
