10 Most Brutal Deaths In Harry Potter Movies

5. Eaten By A Werewolf (Lavender Brown)

Lavender Brown gets a lot of hate from Harry Potter fans because of how "annoying" she was in the sixth movie, but even if you're not a fan of the character, you have to agree that she didn't deserve to die in such a gory way.

Another casualty of the Battle Of Hogwarts, Lavender - like a lot of Hogwarts students - bravely attempted to fight off Voldemort's assault, even though she was never shown to be the most skilled of individuals when it came to using offensive magic.

With that in mind, it's honestly not surprising that she was among the many fatalities the battle caused. While Harry, Ron and Hermione are running through the courtyard warzone in pursuit of the next Horcrux, they stumble across a pale-faced Lavender being eaten by Fenrir Greyback, the savage werewolf who had previously infected Remus Lupin with lycanthropy.

The huge, bloody wound on her neck is absolutely sickening, and even though it's unclear whether or not she was dead before Greyback started mauling her, it's hard to see someone so sweet and innocent be turned into a bad guy's personal chew toy.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
