The Vision was remarkably overpowered in his Age of Ultron debut. Wise, multi-superpowered and completely unstoppable, who would've guessed he'd spend the next Avengers film having the tar beaten out of him?

Savaged by Thanos' Black Order from the onset, Vision takes sanctuary in Wakanda where they attempt to extract that troublesome Mind Stone from his forehead. When it all goes horribly wrong (seemingly the key theme of Infinity War), Vision tells Scarlet Witch, the woman he loves, to eviscerate him for the greater good. Devastated, Wanda slays her special fella in a grand explosion.

Undeterred, Thanos simply rewinds time, brings the lovable android back, and tears the stone from Vision's head with his bare hands. The last shot we get of the character is his lifeless, grey body lying hollow on the ground as the Scarlett Witch turns to dust over him.

Did someone in the writers' room have a problem with the yellow-caped crusader? It certainly feels like it. Simply the glummest end for any hero in the MCU, Vision remained dead-dead like Loki and Gamora during Endgame. While it appears he is back to life for Wandavision, let's read House of M and remember appearances can be deceiving...
