10 Most Dangerous Cinematic Aliens
2. Dark Skies - The Greys
The Barretts are a regular family with regular problems. Then strange things start happening around their house. Their groceries are rearranged overnight, objects start disappearing, birds start flying into windows and the family members are no longer able to account for periods of time.
Consulting a UFO expert (the always wonderful J.K. Simmons) confirms the family’s suspicions that they are being watched and probed by the Greys, aliens who are apparently using humans like lab rats.
The Greys are a staple of science fiction literature and cinema, going all the way back to H.G. Wells’ 1893 article “Man of the Year Million”.
They are most often represented as threatening, but rarely as this ominous and calculated. Scott Stewart’s Dark Skies shows them as telepathic, possibly telekinetic and capable of shaping human thoughts.
There are numerous creepy moments and excellent twists, showing what an extraterrestrial force would act like if they were simply interested in placing us under a microscope.
The Greys of Dark Skies are seemingly invisible, their intentions are nefarious and their mental level surpasses humans’ in every way, making them a most formidable opponent.
