10 Most Delayed Films Ever
3. Dangerous Men (21 Years)
Dangerous Men is about a woman who takes the law into her own hands after her boyfriend is murdered by two bikers. With a premise that simple, you'd assume it wouldn't take too long to shoot this film. So why did it take twenty-one years to release Dangerous Men?
The answer is - gross incompetence. The director, John Rad, was so deluded, he believed Dangerous Men was "going to be bigger than E.T." Production began in 1984 and he released the film a year later. However, the cast members were so furious by how badly it turned out, they stormed out of the screening.
Rad was undeterred and insisted his movie could work if he re-edited it and shot a few more scenes. But because he refused to pay the medical expenses for the lead star after she broke her leg during filming, she quit the project. As a result, Rad changed the story so drastically, his former lead vanishes halfway through the plot with no explanation.
Dangerous Men wasn't officially released until 2005 but only after Rad paid five cinemas in LA to screen the film.
