10 Most Delayed Films Ever
2. Night Of The Ghouls (27 Years)
Despite Ed Wood's reputation as a terrible film director, he absolutely believed his feature, Plan 9 From Outer Space, would turn his career around. After the movie bombed, Wood failed to receive funding for future projects and so, dedicated the rest of his career to making pornography.
Before switching to adult films, Wood tried to make one more horror flick called Night of the Ghouls. It revolves around a con-man who fools customers into thinking he can contact their loved ones. Wood was dissatisfied with the rough cut and insisted Night of the Ghouls needed to be edited before being released.
There was just one problem. The post-production team had the film under lock and key and refused to return it to Wood until he paid the lab fees. Since Wood had no money, he had no choice but to abandon the movie.
In 1984, an avid fan of Ed Wood called Wade Williams managed to locate the film. After he paid Wood's bill, he was given full ownership over Night of the Ghouls. He had the film released on VHS that same year, six years after Wood's death, and twenty-seven years after production began.
