10 Most Devastating MCU Deaths

9. Gorr's Daughter - Thor: Love & Thunder

Thor: Love and Thunder took the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a place it never needed to go. What was witty and charming in Ragnarok was escalated to silly and irritating in its sequel. However, the movie wasn’t all bad, as Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher stole the entire show.

One of the greatest aspects of the character was that his motivation was incredibly just. It was easy to feel sympathy for him and to understand his grudge against the Gods after seeing what happened to him at the start of the movie.

The very first scene showed Gorr carrying his daughter across a barren and unforgiving desert. With no protection from the sun, no food, and no water, they were as close to death as possible. While Gorr was holding her, she simply uttered that she was tired, and in the next shot he was laying next to her grave.

Who could have possibly expected this movie to open in such a devastating way? The movie overall was far too silly to be taken seriously, but this scene was outstanding. It was something special to incite such emotion from the death of a character who had been in the MCU for less than two minutes.
