8. Jack Reacher - Jack Reacher
If you've ever read a book in the Jack Reacher series, you'll know that Tom Cruise resembles the character in exactly zero ways. Reacher is a giant of a man - a terrifying colossus who scares the out of anybody who dares approach him. You wouldn't want to fight Jack Reacher unless you really, really had to. Tom Cruise... meh. I think just about anybody could take Tom Cruise, and not just because he's 5"7 (he
is 5"7, though). It's not just about the looks, though. The movie itself isn't actually that bad, and Cruise is fine as another one of his interchangeable action hero characters, but for fans of the Jack Reacher novels, learning that Cruise was going to play the 6"5 antihero... well, that must have been horribly disappointing, huh? The point of Reacher is that he's a big, intimating guy. That's why he's so fun to read. Cruise's character is Reacher in name only.
