10 Most Disappointing Horror Movies Of 2015 - Ranked

We came, we saw, we couldn't care less

If you€™re an action movie fan, then 2015 was all giddy highs (Furious 7, Mad Max: Fury Road) and spirit-crushing lows (Terminator Genisys, Fantastic Four). Even Jurassic World was a hit with the critics, although most of them probably forgot the movie in the time it took to file their review. For the horror fan, however, 2015 was like attending a Gary Numan concert €“ you had to sit through a lot of mediocrity just to get to Cars, then he raced through it and left the stage to cries of €œIs that it?€ Seriously, you wait 10 months, and Crimson Peak is the best they can do? Puh-lease. Most of the best horrors out there either debuted in 2014 (Digging Up The Marrow, It Follows) or are playing the festivals ahead of a UK DVD release in 2016 (Bone Tomahawk, Deathgasm), so referring to them as €œThe Best Horror Movies Of 2015€ becomes a moot point. When it comes to lumpen mediocrity, though, the year provided rich pickings. Once again, sequels, reboots and knock-offs dominated the box office, and it seemed that if you wanted to get your movie on 2000+ screens, you had to have a ghost in it. The trouble is that ghost stories are like blondes in slasher movies €“ they all look the same. Neither good enough to be fun, nor bad enough to earn a critical drubbing, these are the movies that came and went in 2015. Don€™t worry if you missed them €“ you€™ll be able to find them in the bargain bins in a few months.
