10 Most Disappointing MCU Moments
4. Cap & Bucky's Muted Goodbye - Avengers: Endgame
As emotionally gratifying as Endgame's ending was, fans were nevertheless left a little underwhelmed by the final farewell between Steve Rogers and Bucky (Sebastian Stan).
Given that Steve ends up going back to his original timeline to live out his life, it was disappointing that we never got a real moment of closure between the two characters, with them simply saying a rather sheepish farewell before Cap heads off to return the Infinity Stones.
Worse still, when Cap returns as an older version of himself, Bucky stays behind while leaving Falcon (Anthony Mackie) to have a chat with him.
Though it's since been confirmed by Joe Russo that Bucky knew Cap wasn't coming back, it still feels like the audience was robbed of a major emotional payoff to their near-decade-long friendship in the MCU.
For a film which landed so many emotional beats perfectly, this one just felt a bit tepid and soft, sadly.
