10 Most Disturbing British Movies Ever
6. Kill List
Directed by future Free Fire helmer Ben Wheatley, 2012’s Kill List is an odd mash up of crime thriller and dark kitchen sink dramedy… At first.
The film follows a pair of hitmen, one nearing retirement, as they bump off a handful of deserving victims from the eponymous kill list. But in the film’s closing third, proceedings take a turn into some strange Wicker Man/ Midsommar style territory, a wild tonal shift which blackens the tone of an already dark and disturbing thriller.
This trippy, creepy crime horror goes some seriously dark places, and it’s one full of images you’ll have a hard time trying to shake… even if you can’t make sense of them.
