10 Most Embarrassing CGI Moments In Recent Movies

7. Lilith's Wings - Borderlands

Eli Roth's Borderlands movie is one of the year's most predictable duds from start to finish, but there are at least moments where it's clear where some of that $120 million budget was spent. And then there's the bust of a climax where our intrepid hero Lilith (Cate Blanchett) reveals that she's the godlike Firehawk, followed by her sprouting fiery wings and kicking even more ass than usual.

Unfortunately, the wonky CGI ruins any mild euphoria this moment might otherwise muster for die-hard Borderlands fans - the fire wings look like awful phone filter objects awkwardly plastered onto Cate Blanchett's shoulders.

It's all the more bizarre considering the film spent more than three years in post-production, and this was apparently the best the crew could come up with in that time. Then again, considering Borderlands' infamously chaotic post-production period, it shouldn't be even remotely surprising that the VFX quality is all over the map throughout.
