Our final entry is embarrassing for a far more serious reason.
This Ryan Gosling-starring crime drama was inspired by the life of accused murderer Robert Durst and the disappearance of his wife Katie. Incredibly, Durst enjoyed the film enough that he agreed to record a commentary track for it with director Andrew Jarecki.
Jarecki and Durst discuss the accuracy of the film at various points, with Durst flatly accepting that his domestic abuse depicted was "close enough," even while keeping relatively mum on the details of his wife's "disappearance."
What makes this more than merely incredibly creepy, however, is that following Durst's eventual arrest in 2015 - after the airing of Jarecki's interview series with Durst, The Jinx - the prosecution then requested that Durst's DVD commentary be used as evidence against him.
Prosecutors stated that Durst's silence during certain portions of the movie's commentary implied a degree of guilt, and indeed, when the trial kicked off earlier this year, the jury were shown excerpts from the commentary track.
The outcome of the trial remains to be seen, and while every other commentary blunder on this list is comparatively harmless, Durst had the complacent gall to literally risk his own freedom because he couldn't keep his own ego in check.
