10 Most Embarrassing Supervillain Film Costumes

7. Deadpool / Weapon XI (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)

As much as we loved Ryan Reynolds€™ performance as a pre-Deadpool Wade Wilson (and we€™re psyched that Fox has finally greenlit a solo Deadpool film for 2016), no amount of wisecracks could make up for Deadpool€™s appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. We can understand showing Wade before he got his signature scars, and although his costume as part of Stryker€™s team was a bit boring, it gave us a hint at what he€™d become later. But the real sin came at the end of the movie when it was revealed that Weapon XI, Stryker€™s mutant equivalent of Frankenstein€™s monster, was Wade. Not only was he given an amalgam of mutant powers including Wolverine€™s healing factor, Cyclops€™ optic blasts, Wraith€™s teleportation, but also adamantium swords that came out of his arms. As insane as all of that sounds, what made it even worse was that they sealed off his mouth completely. Deadpool is called the €œMerc with a Mouth€ for a reason€”it€™s because he has a penchant for making wise-crack remarks. Giving us a Deadpool who can€™t talk is like giving us a Superman who can€™t fly or a Hulk that doesn€™t smash. Fortunately, the Weapon XI version of Deadpool and the rest of X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been wiped away thanks to the time travel antics in X-Men: Days of Future Past. And if the upcoming Deadpool film is anything like the test footage Tim Miller directed, it looks like we€™ll get the real Merc with a Mouth very soon.
