10 Most Emotional Avengers: Endgame Moments

1. Captain America's Dance With Peggy

Of course, in the most wonderful celebration of Captain America's life that the Russo brothers could possibly muster, the ending of Avengers: Endgame was the moment that many fans had been waiting years for - but none quite as long as Peggy Carter herself. After living a life of dedication to heroism and doing what's right at any cost, Captain America is given the final responsibility of returning the infinity stones to their original locations to re-seal the timeline. And like any man lost in time, he can't resist taking a decades-long detour back to the 40s along the way.

We find this out through the way of Old Man Cap wearing a wedding band, deciding to keep his secrets to himself when asked by Sam about his adventure. The flashback we're treated to of a watery-eyed Peggy as she and Steve dance to the radio was all we've ever wanted, all we've ever needed, and all they had to show - just knowing that Cap got to live the life he finally wanted (and deserved!) was treat enough. It's so, so wholesome, ensuring that no piece of cinema can ever live up to one simple slow dance ever again.

This is the true power that 11 years of build up can wield. I still haven't stopped crying.
