10 Most Emotional Avengers: Endgame Moments

2. Avengers Assemble

Black Widow
Disney

After the hole that Infinity War left behind after turning all of our favourite heroes into nothing more than belly button lint, we knew that something had to give for the upcoming film schedule to make any sense. Peter Parker, Black Panther, and Dr. Strange were all dead but slated for sequels in the period after Endgame - so exactly how and when were they going to make it back to our screens in this movie?

Captain America answered this question in one of the best battle sequences modern cinema has strung together, fighting Thanos with Mjolnir (oh my god!!) until he was beaten back, his shield destroyed, and his body battered, left standing on his own ready to die in service of the universe. But who should step in when the odds got impossible, wielding portals like a giant smattering of hula hoops and conjuring the deceased masses forth? Steven f*cking Strange himself.

Bringing literally everyone you could ever hope for through from all reaches of the galaxy, the wizard steps in with an army like Gandalf the White rescuing Helm's Deep, injecting liquid joy into the veins of every audience member in attendance. The only thing to top seeing all these now very alive superheroes is the Captain's command straight after:

'Avengers, Assemble!'

Someone finally bloody said it.
