https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDvXVP2iSNs Randy Savage is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic, most talented and most beloved wrestlers to ever exist in the WWE, his tribute certainly captured that very well. It's surprising that the WWE gave the Macho Man such a send-off, as there's always been a lot of talk regarding the soured relationship between Randy and Vince, after several alleged rumors about why he departed from the company and never came back. Then again, the two were said to be quite close at one stage, it'd be hard to justify ignoring the passing of one of the biggest legends he ever made in this business. The video itself isn't that touching at first, it starts off with a voice-over listing his accolades, excerpts of his promos, clips from some of his most memorable matches, but then the true tribute starts. The smooth melody and emotional lyrics of Coldplay's The Scientist find new meaning to clips of the Macho Man - 'nobody said it was easy, it's such a shame for us to part'. While Savage was one of the most flamboyant, energetic and colorful characters in the WWF, the promo does well to characterize him away from the character, to clarify him as a person and a human, not as the cartoonish caricature he played in the 90's. Randy disappeared from wrestling in 2000 and never came back, unlike many other retired wrestlers, he respected the business -he never needed to reappear, or air his dirty laundry from the past or seek attention, he simply went on to live his life in private. Rest in peace Randy, you've certainly earned it.
