The first showing of the Batman v Superman trailer was an exclusive affair but the world was at least shown a new shot of Ben Afflecks Batman at Comic-Con as Dan Didio tweeted out a photo of the actor in the iconic suit. This more detailed look at the suit has generated a great deal of discussion among fans of the caped crusader, comparing the new outfit to the many cinematic versions which have preceded it. The suit we'll see Ben Affleck kicking butt in is far more reminiscent of those seen in comic books rather than in Batman films. Where Christopher Nolan's batsuit was ultra-realistic this new costume looks like it was taken straight from the pages of The Dark Knight Returns by writer-artist Frank Miller. It comes as no surprise that Batman has been depicted in this way. Zack Snyders other superhero film, Watchmen, featured heroes wearing costumes taken straight from the panels of comic books as well. The general consensus is that the new cowl looks awesome and most definitely differentiates itself from the Nolan series, marking the start of a new age in Batmans life-cycle.
