10 Most Exciting Comic Book Movie Revelations From Comic-Con 2014
2. Batman V Superman Trailer Report
Warner Bros. created a whole lot of enemies at Comic-Con (admittedly of the non-supervillain variety) as they allowed a select few to join them in Hall H to watch the first teaser trailer of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice while the rest of the superhero loving world were left to wonder at what fantastic scenes the chosen ones would be witnessing. There was some incredibly grainy, leaked footage of the trailer online but this has been swiftly taken down by Warner Bros., the killjoys. Thankfully some of those in attendance were able to overcome their excitement and take notes:
It was short but got right down to the heart of the matter. Set at night, in pouring rain, it begins on a rooftop with Ben Afflecks Batman - in souped-up armour much like he wields in Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns, including glowing eyes - pulling a tarpaulin off the Batsignal. It shines into the sky, and then - illuminated against the clouds, flecked with lightning, standing inside the symbol, is Henry Cavills Superman. And he does not look happy, his eyes glowing red with burgeoning heat vision ray. The camera tracks in on Batmans face as he grimaces and cut to black. No dialogue at this point, so theres no idea of what Affleck sounds like as Batman, or indeed a wider sense of the story, but the message is clear: Clark and Bruce are going to face off. - Empire
The upgraded armour at least in part explains how Batman is going to fend off a superhero who is clearly more powerful than himself. The sooner this trailer becomes widely available the better.
