5. Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 & Thanos
Marvel Studios concluded their Comic-Con presentation with director James Gunn announcing via video link from London that the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy had been greenlit and will be released on July 28th 2017. The first film has already received many positive reviews so it comes as no surprise that Marvel should choose to create the sequel. Marvel also stated in a press release that Josh Brolin will continue to play Thanos in future films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In a statement Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige stated:
"Josh brings all the weight and stature necessary for a character as iconic and significant as Thanos. We're incredibly excited for fans to see more of him as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand."
This commitment to Brolin as an ongoing antagonist will prove to be extremely exciting news. Feige plans on continuing to use Thanos in both the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises this shared enemy makes the possibility of a crossover film very likely.
