Since the very early stages of the MCU, Kevin Feige has been vocal about his desire to see a Doctor Strange film come to fruition. This fall his dream finally comes true.
The fact that we got Guardians Of The Galaxy and Ant-Man before Doctor Strange just goes to show this was no easy thing to bring to the big screen. He is after all, the character who has the difficult task of introducing the world of mysticism to the universe. That alone makes him a character of immense importance.
Luckily, Marvel snagged the right actor to take on the important role. Cumberbatch's Sherlock is a similar self-centred genius and we all know how well he pulls that off. Add to that the fact that Cumberbatch is a true superstar now and immensely charismatic, and that his name alone could probably sell the movie. It's a great addition.
In his very capable hands, Cumberbatch could turn Strange into one of the most popular characters in the MCU. And if Avenger: Infinity War is just Strange, Tony Stark, Scott Lang and Peter Parker trading jabs then I am all in.
