10 Most Exciting Upcoming Movies Announced This Year

A Boba Fett movie has been rumoured for a while now, but earlier this year was the first we'd heard that a filmmaker was actually attached to develop it.

Logan director James Mangold is the man who's been handed the job, and while story details are nonexistent at this point, it's really the people behind this movie that make it such an exciting prospect anyway.

Imagine if Mangold does with Boba Fett what he did with Logan? Not the R-rating or the blood, obviously - but the tone and the feel, that Western, lone-gunslinger vibe. The character met a pretty goofy end in Return Of The Jedi, but his look, his demeanour, everything about him is pretty gruff and mysterious, and he seems like a good fit for a story that's a little darker and a bit more adult.

Mangold is rumoured to be co-writing the script with Simon Kinberg, his Logan writing partner - and that's no coincidence. It's highly likely that Disney and Lucasfilm sought the pair out specifically because of that movie, which indicates the direction they want to take Boba Fett in.
