10 Most Exhausted Horror Movie Protagonists

9. Park - The Host

The Host constantly has audiences divided on whether or not it deserves to be labelled as 'good'. This mainly comes from its gimmicky and cheesy storyline and more than questionable CGI. For the most part it is an enjoyable and relatively scary film, but more for those whose fear is deep rooted in the impact humanity is having on the planet, without giving too much away!

Park Gang-du is the exhausted protagonist of this film, and if you watch the movie from start to finish you will certainly understand why. He spends the beginning half of the 119 minutes convinced that his daughter has been killed by the amphibious creature terrorising the city, but after discovering she is in fact still alive he then does everything in his power to find her.

Unfortunately the film does end with the eventual death of his daughter after all, and we can only sympathise with how emotionally draining it must have been for Park to think his daughter is dead, only to discover she is alive, for her to then die 'again'. It certainly is a different kind of exhaustion to the other entries on this list, but it still deserves its spot!
