9. Judge Doom Is Steam-Rolled And Dissolved - Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Watership Down
Buena Vista Pictures

Who Framed Roger Rabbit, a live-action-animation hybrid comedy, stars Bob Hoskins as Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins), a private detective investigating the lives and deaths of the residents of Toontown, including the titular Roger Rabbit (voiced by Charles Fleischer).

An innovative, hilarious, and endlessly entertaining mix of sharp dialogue, strong performances, and striking visual effects, Who Framed Roger Rabbit was both a huge commercial and critical success.

However, the film also contains one seriously gruesome death scene, wherein the corrupt and villainous Judge Doom (Christopher Lloyd) is subjected to an unexpectedly gory demise.

After the other characters learn of his dastardly deeds, Judge Doom is first entirely flattened by a steamroller, screaming in agony as the machine slowly crushes him. Although the Judge somehow survives this evidently torturous experience, he is eventually killed by 'Dip', a chemical substance which he had previously created as a means of killing toons.

Slowly disappearing into the substance, Judge Doom again cries out in pain as the Dip gradually dissolves his entire body. While he may have deserved this decidedly gruesome and painful demise, this nonetheless remains one death scene which we find hard to watch.
